This artwork was created in honor of Michonne: one of my favorite characters from “The Walking Dead” and the most awesome zombie episode was the one where she rescues Andrea with her two pet walkers – She cut off their arms and lower jaws so they wouldn’t attack her and walks them with her to keep zombies away. Artist Thoughts of the Day:

I like to journey outside of tradition and push it to the next level, always striving for something different. Moving forward, thinking beyond boundaries and rules. No rules govern my art. I have always been a rebel in the art world, not following tradition and always trying to stun my audience with the macabre, misfit art, weird thoughts and my own beliefs. Although I do believe in the law and order of our society. Art is my out, a way to jump the conscious mind into my fantasy world and it totally satisfies me. When I create something, I have no need for more than my own thoughts. When I am in my zen painting state, I have limitless walls to a crazy mind push with no suffocation from rules of any kind. We are all born with a gift and we should all follow our hearts and be free within our minds in whatever area we excel in. If we had no creativity we would not evolve into anything more than a machine. I am Alive…~Laura Barbosa~ “Strength, Passion, Courage, Belief”

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward….” — Apple Computer, 1997

Think Outside The Box and Evolve……

I was looking around the blogs at wordpress this morning and found this post about Interior Design. I am a big fan of decorating ideas, David Bromstad and any kind of home decor tips. Design Star on HGTV is also one of my favorite past times. I found this post enjoyable and well written and thought I would repost it and share some ideas with my blog readers. Anything and everything related to Art, Artwork, Original Paintings, Decorating, Fine Art Prints, etc…. is always of interest to me & I hope you enjoy reading  it too ~

HGTV Design Star- Celebrity homes As much as I hate to admit it, it’s true, I’m still watching HGTV’s Design Star . I just can’t help myself, while the abundance of catalog decorating and the lack of design astound me, I keep tuning in. Last night I watched as the final 3 contestants (Lonni, Dan & Antonio) were challenged to create a space for celebrity clients- Tiffani Thiessen, Jason Priestley and Kathy Griffin.  Lonni sought to refresh Tiffani’s guest room while Dan create … Read More

With the world spiraling more into the depths of greed and destruction, the earth is sadly paying a big price for human ignorance and stupidity. BP’s Gulf Oil Spill is yet another tragedy brought upon the earth by man. What will it take for the ignorant to understand that we are all a part of each other and all our we a part of this earth. My compassion goes to all the animals who are suffering and dying because of so many things, over fishing,  killing whales for food, fish nets killing countless numbers of species and so many more things, I could write until next year about.

The Painting being featured in this blog post is truly one from the HEART! “Tree Hugger” is meant to communicate the importance of our earth and environment to the viewer. A message to all the people of the earth. > Look at what we should be doing: Embracing Nature and Loving our surroundings just like we love our most cherished things.

GO GREEN, MAKE A STAND, BE HEARD and help the earth and all the animals on it! Teach your children so they can become a great race and protect their future home from destruction.

We are ALL important!! ALL OF US! No one person nor one animal should be excluded. We are all here for a reason and we all have our job and talents to work with. Treat each other as you would like to be treated and please do all you can to help the earth bounce back and become a fantastical land of peace and hope for all of us…..TOGETHER! We should never be seperated by race or status but instead be known throughout the universe as “THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH”

dhill February 02, 2008: “Bigger Than the City” is what I see. An urge to be part of helping the mundane reveal its secret depths.
